Washington public works · last 24 months

This much public work is awarded near you. Most of it is never advertised.

Washington agencies invite bids straight from their own standing rosters, so the work you can see advertised is a fraction of the work there is. This shows who awards it near you, how much, and how many lists you could get on. Free, no account needed.

2,054public bodies awarding work
197,040jobs awarded
$39.4Bpaid to contractors

Measured across Washington over the last 24 months.

⚠ A floor, not a total. Another 96,268 jobs ($28.3B) carry no trade at all — public contracts are named after the place, not the work. Counted above; the trade breakdown cannot reach it.

⚠ A scale, not an exact sum — a prime's contract and its subs' own filings overlap, by at least 7%. Why.

One field fills the rest in. We look you up in Washington's public contractor register and read your city and trade off your own record, so you do not have to tell us twice. Skip it and set the two below by hand — the figures work either way.

or set it yourself

Distance is measured in miles from your city, not from a county — a job 15 miles away across a county line matters more than one 60 miles away inside it.

Open bids you could answer

206 open solicitations — 14 on opengov:seattle, 69 on Washington's official bid calendar (WEBS), 91 on the OMWBE outreach board, 13 on WSDOT's contracting opportunities board, 1 on opengov:kcls, 1 on opengov:bft, 1 on opengov:lewiscountywa, 16 on federal contract opportunities (SAM.gov). 66 are construction work.

ⓘ 61 of these need a free WEBS account to open — Washington's official calendar does not show notices to anonymous readers. It is free, it takes a few minutes, and the same registration is what gets bid invitations emailed to you. Register with WEBS.

30 agencies are building a standing list Answer once, get invited for years — the highest-value row on the board

ⓘ Spotted from the posting title, so this is what we could see — not a complete list of every standing arrangement open in Washington. ⚠ These are statewide, and the distance box above does not reach them. Neither board records where a roster is: 0 of the rows carry a city, so "City of Ocean Shores" is a phrase in a title rather than a place we can measure from. A roster is worth joining at a distance anyway — you register once and it invites you for years — but do check the location before you spend the time.

Washington lets an agency invite bids straight off its own standing roster and skip advertising, which is how most of the work above is awarded. Being on the list is how you get asked.

Counted in Washington. One MRSC registration covers the first column and is free if your firm is certified under the state small-business programme, $150 if not. ⚠ These three counts are scoped by distance, not trade — a small-works roster takes your registration whatever you do, so narrowing them by trade would understate what you can join. The agency table above is the trade-scoped view.

34 keep a list with an open signup — property managers, hospitals, tribal governments, retail chains, and the platforms they dispatch work through. Showing 15. ⚠ Not filtered by distance, on purpose: a dispatch platform runs its list from one place and serves the whole state, so a radius would drop exactly the ones that reach you.

Your assistant for finding work — public rosters and private lists alike. Find it, get registered, keep track of it.

Public agencies keep standing rosters; property managers, hospitals, retail chains and the platforms they dispatch through keep their own. We find the ones worth your time on both sides, tell you what each asks for before you start, and walk you through the registration. After that, invitations arrive in one inbox instead of scattered across your email — so you can see what came in and decide where your time is worth spending. You click, you sign, you stay in control. Every registration carries an attestation only an owner or principal can sign, so we never submit one for you and never hold an account in your name. Their site, not ours.

This is your page whether you claim it or not.

Everything above comes from public records — we did not need you to sign up, and we never charge a contractor to be found or verified. ⚠ These are awards, not open bids — work already given to a contractor. They are here because they show who is spending right now: the next one is invited off a standing list, which is what the rosters above are about.

⚠ The window ends where our records do, not today. Prevailing-wage filings reach us on a lag, so "the last 30 days" means the thirty days to 2026-09-01 — the most recent filing we hold. Several rows sharing that date is the edge of the data, not a burst of activity.

Below is here so you can read the market, not because we can put you in front of it. We can point you at an agency roster and help you fill the registration in. We do not broker introductions to general contractors, and nothing here has been shown to them.

General contractors who hire subcontractors Market context only — no introduction, no referral. Their trade describes the project, not the hire.

⚠ The trade is the project's, not the hire's. These firms ran projects in this trade and hire subs on them — nothing in the state feed says which trades they subcontract.

Where these numbers come from, and what they miss

Built from Washington L&I public-works records — Statements of Intent (work started) and Affidavits of Wages Paid (work completed) — covering the last 24 months, plus the MRSC agency directory and the L&I contractor registration list. Public work only. Roughly 13% of registered WA contractors file any public-works paperwork, so nothing here describes private or residential work, any comparison here is against that filing population rather than the trade as a whole, and an absence is not evidence of an absence of work.

A project's trade is read from the labour hours actually reported on it where those exist (about 57% of projects, tagged measured) and otherwise guessed from the contract name (inferred). Most public contracts are named after the place, not the work, so trade totals are minimums. Dollar figures are each contractor's own contract amount, not the project's. They are not a clean sum: a prime's contract already pays its subs, who file their own amounts too, so a job with both is counted twice — at least 7% of the total, measured by matching subs to a prime on the same project, and a floor rather than a ceiling because a sub usually names its own scope instead. Read the figures as scale, not an exact sum. Each firm's agency and city lists are their most frequent, not a full history, so an overlap we show is understated rather than invented.

Distances are measured from city centroids derived from the contractor registry, which resolves about 552 Washington cities. Records whose city we cannot place are excluded from a distance search and counted out loud above rather than dropped quietly.

We show you agencies so you can approach them yourself, and we do not publish the individual agency officers named in these records. We do not contact anyone on your behalf.
